The week of CHOGM 2018 begins on Monday 16 April with the Commonwealth Forums, and ends on Friday 20 April after the Heads of Government Retreat.
The media centre opens at 12:00 noon on Sunday 15 April. Sufficient time should be factored in for media representatives to go through accreditation and security procedures, and install any equipment.
A full programme of media moments including size and composition of media pools to cover them will be provided in due course.
Media opportunities will be covered on a pool basis. Information on how to register your interest to be part of a pool for a particular media opportunity will be issued in due course. There will also be a host broadcast and photographer service providing footage for all accredited media to use.

The communications team of the Commonwealth Secretariat will be able to assist with requests to interview the Secretary-General or staff of the Secretariat.
If you wish to interview a delegation member, you should contact the Press Officer at the relevant High Commission to request an interview. The delegations should then liaise with the FCO CHOGM Media Logistics Team if they require a room/space for the interview.

There will be a security regime in place. Accredited media will have to go through standard search procedures to enter the secure zone. We will issue specific guidance on what type of security checks accredited media can expect in due course.
All media will need to access the facility by going through security arches and bag searches. Please allow enough time for this. If you leave the site you will not be able to return without going through the search process.
Media are not charged a fee to access the Media Centre. Workspaces with internet and power are free on a first come first served basis. Additional services will be available for a price detailed on a rate card (please see the media/broadcaster info tab).
It will not be possible to park a satellite truck at the Media Centre. All satellite truck parking will be at the broadcast platform locations. Space will be limited and will be bookable via a media services rate card on a first come first served basis (please see the media/broadcaster info tab).
You cannot park a personal vehicle at the media centre. Please use public transport. The closest London Underground station is Green Park and several bus routes serve the surrounding area. The Transport for London website has the latest travel information and a tool to help you plan your journey.
Accredited media will have access to the Media Centre where there will be a large working area with workspaces with access to power supply, wi-fi and printers. A limited number of workspaces will be supplied with a host broadcaster live feed. All workspaces will be on a first come first served basis.
There will be screens around the Media Centre displaying the latest host broadcast feeds from CHOGM or news channels. Further facilities, including media booths will be available at a cost (please see the media/broadcaster info tab).

Space for interviews will be available in the Media Centre. If you wish to interview an attendee, you should contact the Press Officer at the relevant High Commission to request a delegate interview. The delegations should then liaise with the CHOGM Media Logistics Team if they require a room/space for the interview.
Photographers will have access to standard work spaces
Only accredited media and official delegates will be able to access the Media Centre. Individuals without accreditation will not be permitted.
The week of CHOGM begins with four Forums, bringing together representatives from the worlds of business, civil society and government. They are: the Commonwealth Business Forum, Youth Forum, People’s Forum, and Women’s Forum.
You will need CHOGM 2018 media accreditation to cover the Commonwealth Forums. You should accredit through the CHOGM 2018 media accreditation portal rather than as a forum delegate.
Media will have access to the forums through small escorted media pools.
There will not be a media facility at the forum venues however accredited media will be able to use the CHOGM 2018 Media Centre which will be located in the grounds of Marlborough House. Transport will be provided between the forum venues and media centre.
Stand-up broadcast positions at the QEII Centre and Canada Gate will be available during CHOGM 2018.
All broadcast platforms will be within the Commonwealth Forums and CHOGM 2018 island sites, and media accreditation will be required to access these sites.

A host broadcaster will be working for the UK Government to supply host broadcast footage of all media opportunities. It will be made available via the BT Tower in London and from the Media Centre. A host broadcast schedule and satellite information will be made available closer to the summit.

The power supply in the UK is 230V. Delegates are advised to bring their own electrical adaptors (UK 3-pin) if required.
Those assigned stand upper positions at Canada Gate will be advised in due course on when equipment can be installed on site.
All media will be responsible for making their own accommodation arrangements.
